Late last year, Christopher G. Moore—author of the Vincent Calvino Bangkok mysteries and the godfather of the Bangkok private-eye novel—called to ask me whether I'd be interested in writing a story for a collection to be called BANGKOK NOIR.

Chris is a very generous guy, and I had worked with him in the past to donate money to some of Thailand's most endangered young people. I said I'd love to participate but asked that my royalties be given to a charity for Bangkok's poorest kids.

Next thing I knew, Chris had all the writers volunteering half their proceeds to charity. Those generous writers are John Burdett, Stephen Leather, Pico Iyer, Colin Cotterill, Chris Moore, Tew Bunnag, Alex Kerr, Dean Barrett, Vasit Dejkunjorn. Eric Stone, Colin Piprell, and me.

It's a terrific book in a terrific cause, and you can buy it—and make your donation by doing so—right here.
